World Consumer Rights Day, which is celebrated<\/span>\u00a0on 15 March, serves as an annual reminder of the need to protect and empower citizens in an increasingly complex market, a mission that finds practical expression in the \u201cSafer Consumer Mornings\u201d training activities, which, in Portugal, were supported by the Directorate-General for Consumers. These training activities translate the theoretical principles of consumer protection into digital and safety skills that are essential for everyday life. By focusing on literacy and risk mitigation, the initiative aims to help ensure that the protection of rights is not just a legislative intention but a reality experienced by consumers of all ages, promoting greater literacy and raising awareness in the current ecosystem.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The second training cycle \u2014 Safer Consumer Mornings \u2014 brought together 65 participants, mostly from Portugal, but also including professionals from Spain and Brazil,\u00a0demonstrating\u00a0global interest in the topics covered.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Participation was marked by a wide range of generations and a strong female presence, reflecting the reality of many areas linked to public administration, consumer support, and social services.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Participants\u00a0came\u00a0from\u00a0various\u00a0regions\u00a0of\u00a0Portugal,\u00a0namely\u00a0Lisbon, Porto, Braga, Coimbra, Santar\u00e9m, Set\u00fabal, Algarve, Madeira,\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0Azores.\u00a0<\/span>Of\u00a0particular note\u00a0was the significant participation of professionals from the Azores, which reinforces the territorial reach of the initiative.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This training cycle attracted professionals from different fields, particularly the public sector and local government, as well as health professionals, academics, entrepreneurs, and students. This diversity reflects\u00a0the widespread\u00a0interest in the topics covered, such as regulation, market surveillance, consumer safety, and public policy.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The evaluation of the three sessions was\u00a0very positive. Participants highlighted the interest of the topics, the clarity of the presentations, and the quality of the organization, as well as the effectiveness of the dissemination and the positive impact of collaboration with partner entities, to whom APSI extends its special thanks.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Starting in April, the ECP 8 80 Toolkit \u2014a set of free educational resources \u2014 will be available on the project website ecp880.eu and can be used in consumer education sessions aimed at consumers or other professionals, reinforcing the project’s commitment to promoting consumer education and access to quality resources.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
